Treatment & Recovery
What conditions do you treat?
We treat a wide range of conditions affecting the body from the neck down to the toes. This includes back and neck pain, sports injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, arthritis and rheumatology-related conditions, overuse and workplace injuries, postural problems, and muscle, tendon, ligament, and joint pain. We also offer specialist support for oncology surgery, cancer rehabilitation and scar therapy. For more information about our specialist services, please visit our Services page.
Do I need a GP referral to see a physiotherapist?
No, you do not need a GP referral to book physiotherapy at Trinity Physiotherapy. You can contact us directly. If you are using private medical insurance, your insurer may require a GP referral or authorisation code, so please check with them before booking. Following our assessment, if we feel further investigation or an onward referral is required, we can action this for you.
Will I receive treatment at my first appointment?
In most cases, yes. Your physiotherapist will assess your problem, explain what they think is causing it, and begin appropriate treatment or advice during your first session. This may include hands-on treatment, exercises, education, movement advice or a rehabilitation plan. At Trinity Physio, our goal is to provide effective relief and a clear, personalised treatment plan from day one, ensuring you leave with confidence in your next steps.
How many physiotherapy sessions will I need?
This depends on your condition, how long you have had symptoms, your goals and how your body responds to treatment. Some people only need a small number of sessions, while more complex or long-standing problems may need a longer rehabilitation plan. We will always discuss this clearly and avoid unnecessary appointments.
Will physiotherapy hurt?
Treatment at Trinity Physio is designed to relieve pain. Physiotherapy should not feel unsafe or unbearable. Some assessment tests, hands-on techniques or exercises may feel uncomfortable, especially if the area is sensitive or tight, but your physiotherapist will work within your tolerance and explain what they are doing. You are always in control and can ask to pause or stop at any time.
Will I need to do exercises at home?
Usually, yes. Home exercises are often an important part of recovery, helping to reinforce and build on the treatment you receive in clinic. They can improve strength, mobility and confidence, support a faster recovery, and help reduce the risk of future problems. Your physiotherapist will tailor any exercises to your condition, goals, ability and lifestyle, ensuring they are practical, achievable and relevant to you.
Do you treat children?
Yes, we treat children over 8 years old. They must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Do you offer Women's Health Physiotherapy?
We are able to assess and treat a range of pregnancy-related and post-natal conditions. However, we do not currently provide specialist pelvic health services that involve internal examinations, such as the assessment and treatment of prolapse. If appropriate, we can recommend an experienced pelvic health physiotherapist from our trusted network of local specialists.
Your First Appointment
What happens at my first physiotherapy appointment?
- Your Physiotherapist will have a conversation with you about your injury/illness/pain. They will ask you several questions, which will help them to get a thorough understanding of your situation, concerns and goals, and assist in making a diagnosis.
- After this discussion, your Physiotherapist will complete their physical examination. This may involve you demonstrating certain movements or activities and the physio performing some clinical tests. Please be prepared to remove outer clothing and change into shorts and T-shirt so that your physio has the optimum chance to observe your problem.
- Finally, your Physiotherapist will discuss with you their findings and recommendations for treatment. Once a plan is agreed, treatment will begin, which may include hands on treatment, prescription of exercises, advice and education. Further information on the types of treatments we provide can be found on the services section of our website.
What should I wear to my appointment?
During your initial assessment, we kindly request that you wear:
- For all clients: Underwear or shorts
- For women: A regular bra or vest top...
Your dignity and comfort will always be respected. If you have any concerns about clothing removal, please speak to your Physiotherapist and we will make appropriate accommodations to ensure you feel at ease throughout the examination.
Do I need to bring anything with me?
- The more background information we have, the better. Scan reports, x-ray results and previous clinic letters can all be very helpful in building a complete picture of your condition. If you'd like, you can email any relevant documents to admin@trinityphysio.co.uk before your appointment and our team will add them to your record. Alternatively, feel free to bring them along on the day. You don't need to bring CDs, USB sticks, or other media containing scan images. In most cases, the written scan report provides the information we need.
- If your problem relates to running, sport, walking, feet or ankles, please bring your usual shoes, trainers or sports footwear.
Payment & Insurance
How can I pay for my appointment?
We invoice patients after their appointment, but you can pay by cash or card also. If you are using private medical insurance, please bring your membership number and authorisation code so we can process your appointment correctly.
Can I use private medical insurance?
Yes, Trinity Physiotherapy works with many leading UK private medical insurers. Please check your policy before booking, as some insurers require pre-authorisation, a GP referral or a specific number of approved sessions.
Will I pay extra for treatments such as taping or acupuncture?
Most treatment techniques used during your appointment are included in the standard appointment cost. We may charge separately for take-home products such as resistance bands, kinesiology tape or other rehabilitation items.
What do you charge for appointments?
Our appointment charges can be found on our fees page.
Clinics & Practical Information
Where are Trinity Physiotherapy clinics based?
Trinity Physiotherapy offers appointments in Weybridge and Woking. Please check your booking confirmation carefully so you attend the correct clinic location.
Is parking available?
Yes. We have deliberately chosen clinic locations with convenient parking to make attending appointments as easy and stress-free as possible. We understand that many of our patients are visiting because of pain, injury, recent surgery or mobility difficulties, so easy access is important. Unlike many high street clinics that rely on nearby public car parks, each of our locations offers dedicated parking or convenient on-site parking options:
- Weybridge: There is an on-site car park available for clients to use with a parking permit which the practice provides on arrival.
- Old Woking: The practice has its own dedicated car park which can be accessed from the mini roundabout.
- Central Woking: The medical centre has its own dedicated car park. You will need to register your car number plate at the main reception, or you will get fined.
Do you offer home visits?
Most of our appointments take place in clinic, where we have the best facilities for assessment and rehabilitation. Home visits can be arranged subject to availability, so please contact us directly to discuss this.
Do you recommend any products or equipment?
We occasionally recommend products that can support your recovery between appointments, such as resistance bands, exercise equipment, braces, supports and scar therapy products. Any recommendations will be tailored to your individual needs and goals.
To help our patients access high-quality rehabilitation equipment, we have partnered with Physique, a trusted supplier used by healthcare professionals. Trinity Physiotherapy patients can receive 10% off non-promotional items using the code TRINITY at checkout.
